Flying out from Kathmandu on one of the first flights of the day meant delaying breakfast until the group reached Lukla.  Therefore after a short walk carrying our main packs up the hill, we stopped at the Khumbu Resort for a quick breakfast and the morning’s brief, including a summary of the trek and an introduction to our assistant guides and porters. Everest Base Camp Part 1: Arrival into Kathmandu

Trekking to Everest Base Camp has been one of those ‘wish I could do’ things which has been in the back of my mind for quite some time.  I swear I’ve mentioned it in passing to a few friends, some of which have also been keen on the idea whilst others have made it pretty clear that trekking for two weeks isn’t their cup of tea; each to their own.
