No, I did not run the Stockholm Marathon this year. However, my trip to Stockholm in May/June was to catch up with two mates from Australia who were taking part in the Stockholm Marathon this year.
Anyway, having booked a ferry out of Stockholm the evening after their marathon (headed to Russia), it was a busy morning, dropping off their bags to the ferry terminal before heading off to run their 42kms…
Probably the most inspiration story to come out of the marathon, was that of Team Nordmark, focused on Mikael Nordmark who pushed and carried his son Hugo (who suffers from multiple disabilities including Lissencephaly) the entire marathon.
After watching Tono and Alex cross the line, Mikael and his son entered the stadium, crossing the line after 5hrs 9minutes. Below is a video covering their marathon.
